I joined Racing Welfare in 2020 as Regional Community Executive for the south region then later moved over to the communications team to take on the role of Media and Communications Manager. I’ve been in my current role as Head of Community Engagement since the end of 2023, combining my community and communications experience to lead on the charity’s exciting and ever-evolving community programme.
Prior to joining Racing Welfare I worked for the Racehorse Owners Association (ROA) for several years in marketing and project-based roles. During this time I also worked in a freelance capacity with Race Horse Trader, an online platform for buying and selling Thoroughbreds. I’ve spent my whole career working in racing, leaving school and heading straight to the BRS in Newmarket to complete the entry-level foundation training before going on to work for a couple of trainers in Lambourn, where I’ve remained ever since.
My passion and love for racing has always centred around our magnificent racehorses and the stories carved out both on the racecourse and behind the scenes. Some of my greatest memories come from being part of a team that welcomes a horse home to its stable after a hard-fought battle on the racecourse, knowing the days, weeks and months of work that has gone into creating that single moment of euphoria! That passion is what unites so many of racing’s people, creating strong communities and a totally unique industry to work in. It’s a pleasure to be working for a charity that has the interests of such a dedicated workforce at its very heart, and I am motivated by the prospect of creating meaningful impact for the people on whom the industry relies so heavily.
I’ve met so many people who share that passion for horses and racing, and I am really excited to now be in a role where I can support and really make an impact to the lives of racing’s workforce who work so hard to keep our sport running, and our horses happy and healthy.
