Racing Welfare welcomes Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal to Christmas lunch at Newbury racecourse

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal today (5th December) joined 200 retired racing staff at Newbury racecourse, all of whom had gathered together to celebrate Christmas.  Hosted by ITV Racing’s Mick Fitzgerald, the event was part of a trio of lunches held across the country today, with events taking place at York racecourse and in Newmarket also.  In all, Racing Welfare brought 474 people together to mark the start of the festive season across the three locations. 

Awards season comes to Yorkshire as John Bottomley scoops Godolphin Dedication to Racing Award

John Bottomley, who celebrated his 60th year working in racing last year, returned to his home in Norton, North Yorkshire, a hero having won the Dedication to Racing Award at the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards last week.

Sporting memories launch range of horseracing Replay Reminiscence cards

Sporting Memories is launching a new set of Replay Reminiscence Cards for Horseracing, adding to their already extensive range of sporting memory aids.  The cards have been developed in partnership with Racing Welfare, who hold regular Sporting Memories coffee mornings across the country.  The range will be launched at a special event at Palace House, The National Heritage Centre for Horseracing & Sporting Art on Tuesday 19th February.
