Awards season comes to Yorkshire as John Bottomley scoops Godolphin Dedication to Racing Award

John Bottomley, who celebrated his 60th year working in racing last year, returned to his home in Norton, North Yorkshire, a hero having won the Dedication to Racing Award at the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards last week.

John, who is Travelling Head Lad to Ollie and Vicky Pears, beat off stiff competition to take the Dedication to Racing Award during the glittering awards ceremony in London.

John is hugely popular within the local racing community and is a regular at events organised by Racing Welfare’s Malton-based welfare team.

His presence lit up the charity’s monthly Malton coffee morning last week, where friends and peers gathered to offer their best wishes and congratulations.

And the winner is…

John and his wife Janet are well-known faces at Racing Welfare’s events in and around the Malton area and we are absolutely delighted that his professionalism and dedication have been recognised in this way.

From the whole team at Racing Welfare, congratulations John!
