We’re excited to launch a brand-new fundraising event for 2023 – The Great Racing Welfare Boat Race! The event will take place on Wednesday 6th September at Windsor Racecourse.
Teams from within the racing industry are invited to challenge each other to an exhilarating dragon boat race down a stretch of the River Thames, from a pontoon based near to the racecourse.
Each team will take part in a minimum of two races on the day, with the fastest teams going through to the semis and a final. There will also be a ‘Best Turned Out’ competition for the team that shows up in the best kit – fancy dress is strongly encouraged! The Great Racing Welfare Boat Race promises to be a fun, competitive afternoon on the water, complete with a live DJ and the bonus of an after-party for all participants to enjoy at the racecourse during the evening.
Racing Welfare’s Chief Operating Officer, Gemma Waterhouse, said: “This is such an exciting new event for Racing Welfare. We’re really looking forward to setting up this unique challenge and seeing lots of teams from across the industry in good spirits and taking each other on. As well as being a lot of fun and a great laugh, the event will also be raising much-needed funds for racing’s people. It’s a win-win!”
