After the success of last year’s inaugural Great Racing Welfare Boat Race, the event returns bigger and even better for 2024!

Teams will consist of 11 people including 1 drummer, but supporters and extra rowers to swap in and out are welcome. Each team will take part in a minimum of two races, with the fastest teams going through to the semis and a final.

If you are interested in entering but don’t quite have the number, please still get in touch! We always have members of the Racing Welfare team who are dying to get on the boats!

Dragon boat racing is recognised as the most colourful, fastest growing and exhilarating water-based activity. Races will take place down a stretch of the River Thames, from a pontoon based near to the racecourse.

There will be a live DJ, various other competitions and entertainment throughout the afternoon and a best turned out competition with a prize for the best fancy dress or team kit!

No experience or training necessary.

All funds raised will help the charity to provide vital support for people working in or retired from the racing industry.
