Racing Welfare exists to help anyone who works in the British horseracing and breeding industry who is looking for support, regardless of their occupation.
Fortunately, not everyone will need our help, but by volunteering this enables us to deliver support throughout the UK and make a real difference to people’s lives. Volunteers like you are vital in helping us achieve this, either through work directly in support of beneficiaries or through raising the funds needed to continue to provide the services that we offer. We very much welcome new volunteers in all sorts of roles to help us carry on providing support to those who need us. We would be delighted if you would like to join our Volunteer Programme.
Looking to help during the Covid-19 pandemic?
As a charity, we are extremely grateful to all those who volunteer with us. During this difficult time, volunteers will become more important than ever and we welcome all offers of help from the community.
If you would like to support racing’s workforce you can sign up to become a Racing Welfare Check-in and Chat volunteer by heading to our ‘Volunteering’ page to find out more.
“It has been fantastic to be part of the Check-in and Chat team and I am enjoying building the relationships and hearing the amazing stories!! It always gives me a boost of positivity when I have spoken with them and I am delighted to hear that the beneficiaries are finding it is a help to them too. My only disappointment is that I can’t do more of it but maybe this will possible in the New Year.”
There are many benefits to volunteering and we would love to hear from anyone who shares our aim of preventing loneliness and social isolation within the racing industry.
Whilst we work on these plans, please also take the opportunity to look at our existing schemes, such as Friends of Racing Welfare, which are vital to funding our work and may be of interest to people you know who wish to support our work but can’t offer their time.
