Racing Homes

Racing Welfare owns and manages a portfolio of 155 residential units across the UK. The accommodation is offered at a subsidised rent and the quality reflects best practice in social housing

Racing Homes is the housing association that owns and manages properties on behalf of Racing Welfare, managing 155 properties across racing centres including; Newmarket, Lambourn, Malton and Middleham.

Our portfolio focuses on providing properties for retired and young people (16-24), providing both sheltered and general needs housing. Racing Homes also offers an advice and support service those working or retired from the racing and breeding industries. Racing Homes aims to follow the very best practice in social housing, providing high-quality accommodation and support whilst charging rent at social rent levels.

LAMBOURN

Our four properties in Lambourn are made up of schemes focused on retired and young people's housing.

1-6 Fir Tree Cottages West Ilsley

These properties are let to retired staff. 

No’s 1 – 4 Fir Tree Cottages are Grade II listed period cottages with modern extensions:

  • 4 x 2 bedroom cottages.
  • Each cottage is different in size and layout but all have two bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom.

NEWMARKET

Newmarket has a number of retirement schemes and a hostel for young people. The retirement accommodation is spread out over seven different locations proving both sheltered and general needs housing.

Childwick House

These properties are let to retired stable staff via nomination rights. 

A modern purpose built two-storey building:

  • 6 x very sheltered studio flats.
  • These flats are designed for individuals with personal care needs.
  • There is 24 hour care provision on site and applications are subject to a formal allocations process.
  • Assured Tenancies.

Hamilton Road

This property provides accommodation for retired staff.

This provides accommodation for young people starting out in their career in the industry.

Rous Memorial Cottages

Rous Memorial Cottages provides accommodation for retired racing staff.

A town centre development:

  • 2 x 2 bedroom Grade II listed properties.
  • 6 x 1 bedroom Grade II listed properties.
  • Each cottage has a sitting room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom(s).
  • The development sits in the grounds of Rous Court, also owned by Racing Homes.

Rous Memorial Court provides accommodation for retired racing staff.
