We’re back with the biggest cycling challenge of the year!
This year we are incredibly excited to bring the next Great Racing Welfare Cycle Challenge from the home of Horseracing, Newmarket Racecourse.
This time we’re challenging teams of 4-8 people to take on the ultimate test of stamina and endurance, by entering our 24-hour challenge. Starting at 12pm on Saturday 20th July, a minimum of two members of your team will need to be cycling on the course at all times until the challenge comes to a close at 12pm on Sunday 21st July. That means that you don’t need to give up your whole weekend to take part. You can split the challenge between your teammates, making this the ultimate relay, whilst doing your bit for this fantastic charity!
The Great Racing Welfare Cycle will be run in conjunction with our event partners pie, and all participants will receive a bespoke event cycling jersey and goody bag. We’ll also be providing you with food and refreshments throughout the challenge, as well as a stunning, circular route around Newmarket passing some of the towns most iconic and historical areas.
The challenge is open to all.
It is set up to be a fantastic day and we can’t wait to see you there! Teams will start their challenge at 12 noon on the 20th July and leave the racecourse for an undulating, challenging around the home of Horseracing. This challenge is based on a team of FOUR, SIX or EIGHT people, with TWO cyclists out on the route cycling at any one time while the others rest at the “Riders Camp” based at the racecourse. The riders will tag-team day and night for 24 hours finishing at noon on the 21st July, crossing the finishing line to the cheers of their friends and family. A post-event celebration for all the riders and supporters will take place on the afternoon of the 21st to celebrate the incredible achievement of all of those who have taken part and supported.
All the funds you raise will help us meet the growing demand for support for racing’s workforce, whose dedication and commitment makes the sport possible.
There is a £62.50 registration fee per person and a £750 sponsorship target for each participant.
Deadline for registration is 31st May 2024
Dedicated support from your Racing Welfare event manager from the moment you sign up, as well as on the day support from our event providers pie, including mechanics.
