Racing Welfare is once again delighted to be running this year’s Newmarket Heath Ride in association with Bedmax, which takes in some of horseracing HQ’s most iconic locations along its course. Entries are open now for the event, set to be held on Sunday 5th September.
The Newmarket Heath Ride offers participants the chance to ride over 8, 15 or 20 mile routes across Newmarket’s hallowed turf, all whilst raising money for Racing Welfare. Starting and finishing at the July Course, the event is made possible by the support and kind permission of The National Stud and Jockey Club Estates.
The day offers a unique opportunity to ride across Newmarket’s famous training grounds, utilising the town’s network of horse-walks which, in the case of the 15 and 20 mile routes, emerge at the base of Warren Hill. The 20 mile course also takes in the Al Bahathri all weather gallop, allowing horse and rider to gallop in the footsteps of some of the world’s most famous racehorses.
Bedmax has once again returned as headline sponsor for the ride this year after initially aligning to the event in 2020. The ride is facilitated on the day by an army of volunteers, bringing Newmarket’s community together in support of both the event and the charity.
