Trust Fundraising Executive
My role at Racing Welfare means managing and developing our portfolio of Trusts and Foundations. Whilst applying for grants, my role means maintaining good relationships with those currently supporting Racing Welfare and looking to find and develop new Trusts and Foundations.
I have a great passion for horseracing as do my entire family. My background in horseracing started with being involved in the first ever pony race held at Bangor on Dee Racecourse when I was nine.
At sixteen I started point to point riding on my parents’ horses trained by my father, just outside Bangor on Dee. I had great success picking up many placings and 4 winners, whilst later also doing a university degree in Sports, Health and Physical Education. I have ridden out in NH yards such as Donald McCain’s and Paul Nicholls, riding amazing horses like Oslot, only a few days after he won the Galway Plate in 2008.
In 2013 I assisted the Clerk of the Course during the Boodles May Festival book in stable staff accommodation at Chester Race Company. I was later offered a role in the commercial team, where I had the privilege of working with some fantastic brands and be part of some exciting activations on racedays for 6 years.
I am extremely excited to now be working for Racing Welfare. The work the charity and team do to support the racing industry is truly incredible. I look forward to supporting the charity through my role, to continue their work to ensure everyone from the horseracing and breeding industry and community feels supported and has the opportunity to thrive.
