My role at Racing Welfare is the Welfare Administrator which means I support the welfare team around the country.
Racing Welfare helps provide a good work life balance for me as work is just a 5 minute walk from my home. The daily commute has gone and it is so valuable to get this time back.
Another benefit to working at Racing Welfare is being able to visit staff on the studs, yards and race courses and meet the people who are the backbone of British Horse Racing.
Back in my younger days I worked on several studs in this country doing breeding and sales seasons before fulfilling my main ambition of travelling abroad. First I worked on a stud and horse hospital in Denmark then doing sales seasons in New Zealand and Australia for a couple of years. Finally racing took me to live in Asia for 30 months.
I love the excitement of National Hunt Racing where the horses and jockeys are truly brave
