Stellar Panel Delight at Royal Ascot Virtual Preview Evening

On Thursday 11th June, hundreds of people were entertained from the comfort of their own homes viewing Racing Welfare’s first Royal Ascot Virtual Preview Evening.

The evening was expertly hosted by Racing TV’s Nick Luck, as attendees heard the thoughts of the stellar panel, which included one of the most successful flat jockeys of all time, Johnny Murtagh, Champion Trainer John Gosden, Racing TV expert Lydia Hislop, Sporting Life’s Head Tipster Ben Linfoot and Michael Shinners, Sky Bet’s Head of Sports PR.

The centrepiece of the British Flat season, Royal Ascot is set to take place behind closed doors next week and will be a feast for racing fans, with 36 races scheduled to take place across five days starting on Tuesday 16th June.

The panel not only gave a brilliant insight into next week’s card but there was also plenty of lively debate and entertaining banter. Sky Bet generously gave each of the panelists a £100 charity bet and we will eagerly follow their selections, with all winning returns going to Racing Welfare.

“What a wonderful evening of entertainment! We are incredibly grateful to all the panellists for generously donating their time and providing the audience with some brilliant insights into next week’s racing. I hope everyone watching enjoyed the evening as much as I did and a huge thank you to everyone who bought tickets and supported our Covid-19 Emergency Appeal. Best of luck to the panels’ charity bets and let’s hope we all manage to find some winners next week” said Dawn Goodfellow, Racing Welfare Chief Executive.

CHARITY BET SELECTIONS FROM THE PANEL:

Nick Luck – Run Wild (Coronation)

Lydia Hislop– Frankly Darling (Ribblesdale)

Ben Linfoot – Fox Chairman (Queen Anne)

We would like to say a huge thank you to our expert panel, all of whom generously donated their time, Sporting Life for their kind sponsorship of the evening and to all those who attended. All the funds raised by the preview evening go directly to Racing Welfare’s Covid-19 Emergency Appeal.

Congratulations must also go to our prize draw winner Mr Griffiths who has won four Queen Anne Enclosures admissions to attend the Wednesday of Royal Ascot in 2021!
