Statement on behalf of the Board of Trustees of Racing Welfare and Racing Homes
Racing Welfare and Racing Homes exist in close connection with two other charities within the Racing Welfare Family: The Rous Charity, a housing charity of which Racing Homes is the sole trustee; and the Bentinck, Beresford and Rendlesham Charity (“BBR”) a grant-making charity of which Racing Welfare is the sole trustee.
In order to better meet the needs of our beneficiaries and to ensure that the purposes of the charities can be more effectively furthered we intend to simplify the above by merging the Rous Charity and BBR into Racing Homes and Racing Welfare respectively. Chief among our aims of the process are to enable:
- Greater refinement and integration of the services offered by Racing Welfare and Racing Homes; and
- A reduction in the administrative burden of managing two unincorporated charities, resulting in associated efficiencies of cost and use of staffing.
This is part of a greater strategic vision that will help Racing Welfare and Racing Homes build on its recent successes.
