RACING WELFARE ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF RACING STAFF WEEK PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

Racing Welfare is thrilled to announce the winners of the 2025 Racing Staff Week Photography Competition, sponsored by Betfair. This year’s competition once again showcased the immense talent and creativity of racing staff across the country, with many remarkable entries capturing the essence of life in the racing and breeding industries. Selected photos will be used to create Racing Welfare’s 2026 charity calendar which will be available to purchase later in the year.

The overall winner, Rebecca Sumner of Laura and Kelly Morgan Racing, was selected by Cheltenham Gold Cup and Grand National-winning jockey, Betfair Ambassador Rachael Blackmore, who praised the standard of entries, stating:

“The standard was incredibly high – I genuinely loved all the shortlisted photos, it was brilliant to see such variety across the categories. My winner is Rebecca Sumner’s entry in the Movement & Action category. I think it perfectly captures the horsemanship, dedication, skill and care that all the incredible stable staff put into these wonderful horses that jockeys get to enjoy such good days on.”

As the overall winner, Rebecca will receive £100 in One4All vouchers, with category winners earning a £50 voucher, and runners-up winning a £25 voucher. Each of them will also receive a copy of the calendar.

Rebecca said: “Absolutely chuffed that my photo not only won the Movement and Action category but was also picked by Rachael as the overall winner! I entered as I see on a regular basis how hard racing staff work and it’s not about my photo it’s about them! I just love taking photos and so lucky to be involved with an amazing industry!

“Huge shoutout to Dani and Ben in the photo — they work for Kelly Morgan, whose team shows incredible care and dedication daily.

“Racing Welfare is an amazing charity supporting everyone in British racing and Racing Staff Week is the perfect time to celebrate the hard-working people who make it all happen. It’s not just a job — it’s a way of life!”
