With support from the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association and the National Trainers Federation, Racing Welfare will be hosting a Mental Health Training Day in Lambourn, the first of its kind. The four hour awareness course run by Mental Health First Aid England is going to be held at the Queens Arms Hotel, East Garston on Wednesday 30th May.
The introductory course is open to anyone in the Thoroughbred Racing and Breeding Industry and is designed to give attendees;
– An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma
– Essential knowledge of some common mental health issues.
– An introduction to caring for your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing.
– Assurance to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue.
Spaces are limited to 25 people so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported whilst they learn.
