Racing Welfare is delighted to announce Ladbrokes as the headline sponsor for the charity’s inaugural Racing Come Dancing event, taking place at Newbury Racecourse on Sunday 2 November.”
The brand-new fundraiser will also be held a week later at York Racecourse on Saturday 8th November, giving supporters across the country the chance to enjoy two unforgettable evenings of entertainment, all in aid of Racing Welfare, the charity supporting the workforce of British racing.
Tote have very generously supported both events by sponsoring the dance training.
Each event will see pairs of amateur dancers from across the racing community take to the floor to perform in front of a panel of celebrity judges, competing for the coveted Racing Come Dancing title. Expect sequins, surprises, and plenty of fun as participants swap their day jobs in the sport for an evening under the spotlight.
We are thrilled to have with us at Newbury, Strictly Come Dancing professional Ola Jordan and her 2009 winning partner Chris Hollins, who join our wonderful judging panel alongside much-loved racehorse trainer Richard Phillips.
At York, we are equally delighted to welcome Strictly Come Dancing professional and TV personality James Jordan, Derby-winning jockey and Racing TV Pundit Martin Dwyer, and Professional International Dancer and recognised dance coach Sadie Wild to our judging panel. We are so grateful for their time, energy and enthusiasm in supporting this special occasion.
Newbury is now sold out but there are a limited number of tables and tickets still available at York, offering racegoers, supporters, and local businesses the chance to experience a fantastic evening of live entertainment, fine dining, and charity celebration. Guests can look forward to a sparkling drinks reception, a delicious gourmet three-course meal, and the chance to cheer on competitors as they showcase their moves on the dance floor. Both evenings promise glitz, glamour, and good fun, all in support of a cause close to the heart of the racing community.
For those unable to attend in person, both events will be streamed live, giving supporters the chance to enjoy the show from home. Live stream access donations start from £5 and can be purchased via www.racingwelfare.co.uk/racing-come-dancing-live/
Viewers can text vote for their favourite dancers during each show, voting opens after the final performance and will be live for 30 minutes. All proceeds will go directly to Racing Welfare.
Head of Ladbrokes PR, Alex Apati said:
“We’re delighted to be sponsoring the inaugural Racing Come Dancing Night at Newbury and cannot wait to see what some of the biggest names in the sport have got to offer on the dancefloor. Of course, we are backing our man Dan (Skelton) to take home the trophy on what looks set to be a great night, for an even greater cause.”
Dawn Goodfellow, Chief Executive of Racing Welfare, added:
“We are so excited to be launching the first ever Racing Come Dancing events this November. The enthusiasm and courage shown by everyone taking part has been amazing, and we are hugely grateful to Ladbrokes for their support in bringing the Newbury event to life and to the Tote for sponsoring the dance training for both events. These evenings will showcase the spirit and togetherness that make the racing community so special, all while raising vital funds for our work.”
