Racing Welfare organises a number of events around the UK in a bid to tackle loneliness and isolation amongst retired staff, their partners and carers. The trips provide an opportunity to meet with familiar faces and enjoy a social event with like-minded people.
Each year we organise group outings across the country to local racecourses, seaside destinations and places of cultural interest. We also host Christmas lunch events for hundreds of retired racing staff in the main racing centres across the country, attracting people from far and wide to meet up with old friends and make new ones.
Most of the trips are subsidised by Racing Welfare and so you will only be asked to pay a small contribution to hold a place.
All of our regions host regular social events for retired people including coffee mornings, sporting reminiscence occasions along with occasions specific to each region. Find out more about what’s on in your local area here.
If you would like to join in or you know someone who would benefit from participating in these events, please call Racing’s Support Line on 0800 6300 443 and we will put you in touch with your local welfare officer who can let you know what is going on in your area.
Racing Welfare’s 24 hour support line enables people to access support and
guidance through digital and telephone options.
