Racing Welfare has had the opportunity to raise vital funds and awareness as the official charity partner for this year’s Go Racing In Yorkshire Summer Festival sponsored by Sky Bet, held from 18th to 26th July.
The Summer Festival featured fantastic racing and entertainment across the regions nine racecourses, showcasing the very best of the sport that Yorkshire has to offer.
The partnership provided Racing Welfare with a platform to raise awareness of the support services it offers to all of racing’s people – from stud and stable staff to racecourse employees and those working in associated roles across the industry.
As part of the collaboration, Racing Welfare had a presence on course each day of the festival, allowing the team to engage directly with racegoers, industry participants, and supporters. Bucket collections also took place, as well as a special highlight in the form of the Jockeys’ Sky Bet “Paddock and Chips” football competitions, which saw jockeys taking shots with goals converting to pounds earned for the charity. These activities have resulted in a total of £3,119.89 in vital funds raised for Racing Welfare.
Chloe Martin, Head of Community Engagement at Racing Welfare, said: “The Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival is a brilliant initiative and we’re incredibly grateful to have been part of it this year as charity partner for 2025. This opportunity has been invaluable in helping us to promote our support services to the racing community, as well as raising vital funds to ensure we can continue offering that support. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Go Racing in Yorkshire, Sky Bet, all participating racecourses, and the wider racing community for their support throughout the festival.”
