Annual Christmas Carol Concert

Full of festive cheer!

12th December 2018

Join us at Tattersalls on Wednesday 12th of December for an evening of festive cheer and carol singing.

Tickets for this event are £7 for adults and free for children under the age of twelve. The adult ticket price includes a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie on arrival.

Ticket are now on sale at Tindalls Bookstore, Racing Welfare (Park Lane) and HERE.

Choirs from Fairstead House School, VivaVoices! and Ely Catherdral Girl’s Choir will all be taking part in Racing Welfare’s annual carol concert in the main sales ring at Tattersalls on the 12th December.

Doors open at 6.15pm with the concert starting at 7pm, introduced by Simon Bailey, Chaplain to the horseracing industry.

Once again Newmarket Town Band will be filling the ring with festive cheer with Father Christmas making a special appearance along with his donkeys. Special guest will be Sir Mark Prescott, who is set to delight crowds with his unique story telling ability.

This event raises vital funds to support Racing Welfare’s Chaplaincy service which is so vital to people working in horseracing in times of pain, loss, trauma or need.

About the Chaplaincy Service:

The Chaplaincy Service was first introduced in 2000 to increase support options available to stud, stable and support staff working in the Newmarket area.

In 2014, this was expanded and Pastor Simon Bailey was appointed as a National Chaplain to Horseracing to build a pastoral care team for the support of racing staff throughout the UK.

The British racing industry, along with other sports such as football and rugby, has been innovative in introducing this access to pastoral care. There are over 300 sports chaplains in the UK and Ireland, providing emotional and spiritual care to those involved in professional and amateur sport.
