Every step taken during the Brecon Beacons 10 Peaks Challenge helps Racing Welfare provide vital support to people working across the racing industry when life takes an unexpected turn.
The funds raised from events like this directly support individuals facing injury, illness, financial hardship or major life change, helping them access practical, emotional and specialist care when they need it most.
Hannah Sheppard, 28, a work rider from Trowbridge in Wiltshire, understands just how important that support can be. In 2025, Hannah ran the Bath Half Marathon in aid of Racing Welfare after the charity organised and funded specialist rehabilitation support following a serious accident at work. The horse Hannah was riding spooked and reared, causing her to fall and sustain a traumatic brain injury.
With Racing Welfare’s help, Hannah was able to access tailored rehabilitation that supported her recovery and wellbeing during an incredibly challenging period.
By taking on the Brecon Beacons 10 Peaks Challenge, you are helping to make support like this possible for others across the racing industry, ensuring no one has to face life’s toughest moments alone.
