In 2020, Racing Welfare will be introducing a new fundraising event with the support of former champion trainer, Nicky Henderson and his family.
Seven Miles from Seven Barrows will take place on Sunday, 7th June 2020. The race will have two running options – seven miles or seven kilometres – in a bid to attract a range of runners of all abilities. There will also be major prizes for:
- The fastest female
- The fastest male
- The fastest person in horseracing
With Nicky Henderson’s permission, the race will start from his famous training yard and will take in Nicky’s gallops, The Jockey Club estate, the beautiful Berkshire countryside and ridgeway. The finish will be back at Seven Barrows, at which there will be plenty of activities, food, refreshments and entertainment for supporters, family members and horseracing enthusiasts.
These fundraising events generate monies that are sensibly reinvested into a variety of Racing Welfare campaigns that help people locally and nationally. The charity’s mission is to enhance the wellbeing of people from the horseracing and thoroughbred breeding community by providing enabling and proactive support throughout and after their working lives.
