Entries Open for the Inaugral CATS Personal Development Awards

Racing Welfare’s Careers Advice and Training Service (CATS) have opened the entries for their inaugural CATS Personal Development Award.  The CATS team are also delighted to announce that the award will be sponsored by Hartpury University.  

The CATS Personal Development Award aims to recognise the person who has put the most dedication and effort into developing their career in racing after using the CATS service.  The judges will be looking for someone who has been proactive and has taken every opportunity available to develop themselves in the racing industry. 

New Dedicated Careers Advice & Training Service Website Goes Live

To coincide with the start of National Careers Week, Racing Welfare has launched a new dedicated website for its Careers Advice & Training Service (CATS) at an event held today at Chepstow racecourse.  CATS is operated by Racing Welfare and funded by The Racing Foundation and is available to assist anyone working in the British racing industry.

Regional Staff Development Programme is rolled out nationwide

The cross-industry scheme will be aiming to take further training and development opportunities out to 2,400 members of Racing’s workforce.

Launched to coincide with the start of Racing Staff Week, the Racing industry has come together this summer to roll out a far-reaching scheme which will help racing staff develop the horsemanship and life skills they need to enhance their career progression and encourage staff retention in the industry.

Racing Career Map – Sarah Ashley, Welfare Officer

The Career Map is an interactive tool launched by Careers in Racing last year. The racing industry is unique and diverse, and the different ways in which people are able progress in their employment is a reflection of this. The Career Map encapsulates all of this in a clear, user-friendly way.

CATS launches industry Professional Development Plan

CATS – the racing industry’s Careers Advice & Training Service, managed by Racing Welfare – has launched a bespoke Personal Development Plan to help those working in the industry map out their careers and track their own professional development.
